Dana helped me with a thorough and valuable beta reading. She found mistakes and typos that had eluded 2 previous beta readers. Since I insist on getting as close as possible to perfection, all her contributions were super-valuable. She also detected that I was using the word "that" far more than average and she marked most of the extra thats that I used so that I could remove those thats. She helped me understand where my writing was strong and where it needed more work. High value beta reading. I'll be back for more when I have a fresh MS for her to help perfect. Dana is a fantastic beta reader! I wasn't sure what to expect as this is my first book and first experience with a beta reader but she was friendly, fast and affordable. She answered the questions I sent in detail and even sent me a copy of the manuscript with changes and notes on it which I will go over this weekend. But I have to say that I was beyond happy with what Dana did, it was exactly what I needed and now I feel even more confident in my story. And I wholeheartedly agree with the points she raised about parts of the story which didn't quite add up or weren't a good fit. She pointed things out that I never would have noticed. Dana offers a stress-free service you cannot afford to pass up- so DON'T! Her feedback is timely and rich in story-improving content. I was not expecting so much for my small investment. Yes, a stickler for finding the unnecessary 'that' and 'but' however, much more was revealed - confusing passages, timeline errors, the age of one of my characters did not jive with the events. She not only puts in notes (for proofing/editing suggestions or pointing those missed typos) in the body of the manuscript, but furthermore provides you with an appended 'report' where she offers complete feedback on your story - e.g. concerning plot points & conflicts, characterizations and motivations, story pacing, dialogues, description, world building, etc. She is thorough and a professional through and through. Dana was exactly what I was looking for. I'm a fan of volunteer beta readers and MS swaps, but I wanted to hire a paid beta reader for reliably thoughtful feedback in a quick turnaround.
